Auto Expo is an international car exhibition, arranged biennially in order to give an insight to the automobile industry of India, which ranks fourth in the international market of commercial vehicle. Automotive Components Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers and Confederation of Indian Industry jointly shares the credit of holding this car exhibition. Participation of corporate magnets from major international automobile industry made this exhibition more special.

Venue of Auto Expo, 2008,
Auto Expo, 2008, was held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from 10th January to 17th January. Four halls of Pragati Maidan, 1, 12A, 15 and 18 were chosen for display of different parts and accessories of automobiles. Halls 2 to 12 and also 14 were the venue of two and three wheelers, cars, trucks, buses and various commercial vehicles.
Products showcased in Auto Expo, 2008
Auto Expo, 2008, gave an opportunity to view the products and have an idea about the services offered by the major automobile industry. The products and services were categorized into several units such as vehicles, design vehicles, battery operated vehicles, the different parts components, accessories, workshop and garage products, CNG units, Auto Electronics and Auto Electricals.
There were separate pavillions for insurance companies and car leasing companies, throwing light on car insurance and leasing of cars. The visitors were enlightened on navigation systems, CAD and CAM solutions at the halls that were specially designed for these purposes. Design concepts, oil and lubricants, coach builders, were the theme of other pavillions.
Participants in Auto Expo
The Auto Expo aims at bringing different persons involved with automobile industry under the same roof. In 2008, several international corporate personalities had an active participation in this event. Overseas buyers, senior executives, CEOs of automobile companies, managers of different departments of these companies, delegates from State Transport Companies and Technical solutions were present. Besides engineers, technicians, consultants and even drivers and owners of workshop were free to participate. Apart from them, there were visitors who got a detailed idea about the automobile industry and how it operates.
Auto Expo offered the buyers and sellers to interact with each other and also common visitors. In addition to display of various automobile equipments, seminars and conferences were held. Awards and honors were conferred to notable personalities in this sphere. The event got a worldwide recognition, thanks to the media.
