Melbourne International Motor Show was organized for the first time on 30th April, 1925. This popular car exhibition is the oldest in Australia and is recognised as one of the longest running car shows in the world. Venue of Melbourne International Motor Show
In the initial years, the Royal Exhibition Building was the venue of this motor show. But at present the show is organized at Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Center. The exhibition hall, situated over an area of 30,000 square meter and having a glass walled assemblage of 8,000 square meter is an ideal location for such an international event. The show organizers utilises 45 meters wide dock area stretching along the building. The area can accommodate around 40 semi trailers at a time.

Five event managers are involved with the organization of Melbourne International Motor Show. The Show Director heads the team, which also includes an event co-ordinator and three event assistants. The event managers co-ordinates with the exhibitors and visitors and are responsible for the smooth running of the event.

Melbourne International Motor Show, 2008
The 2008 Melbourne International Motor Show will be held in between 29th February and 10th March. The inauguration will take place on 29th February at 5pm. The exhibitors have planned to launch around 35 new and sophisticated models on the eve of the event. The latest models will give an insight to the recent developments in the field of technology and automobile industries.
