Sydney International Motor Show is one of the popular motor exhibitions in Australia, which has gained international attention. Sydney International Motor Show throws light on the old and new models of vehicles and the latest advancement in the field of commercial vehicles.
The popular Australian International Motor Shows are usually held in the month of October and Sydney International Motor Show is no exception to these. In 2005 the event took place in between 13th-23rd October whereas in 2007, the event was organised from 11th to 21st October.

Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries was responsible for organising this mega event. In 2005, T. Gorman, the chairperson of Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries presided over the entire event. In 2007, J. Conomos took charge of the show and conducted it successfully. P. Sturrock, the Executive Director of the company shares equal credit in the success of the show.
Sydney Convention and Exhibition Center was chosen as the venue of Sydney International Motor Show in both 2005 and 2007. The exhibition was organised over an area of 27,000 square meter, which became the hub of passenger and also commercial vehicles during the show. Corporate personalities as well as general visitors could visit the show any time from 10 am to 10 pm. The entrance fees enhanced people from different strata to visit the show, thus creating interest among masses and giving them an insight to the automobile industries.
The organisers arranged a special press conference, during which they expressed the objectives of organising the show, the expected outcomes and answered the queries of press and people. Australian as well as international media played a vital role in making the show one of the popular car exhibitions worldwide. Around 250 Australians and 25 international media persons were present with an intention of extensive media coverage. The number increased in the year 2007.
Passenger cars were the chief attraction of Sydney International Motor Show. Passenger cars of about 40 brands were displayed. Commercial vehicles were showcased in this international event. However heavy vehicles, coaches, buses, parts and accessories of cars were not included in the show.
The visitors were able to view number of new and also revised car models in this show. New models were launched and plans for upcoming models were revealed. Discussions and seminars were held which highlighted on how to make the vehicles more safe and easy to drive. Sydney International Motor Show helped the participants and the visitors to get acquainted with the technological developments in the field of automobile industry.
