Chrysler or Chrysler LLC is one of the leading car manufacturers of America. It is manufacturing cars since 1925. It is making cars under the brand name Dodge since 1914. Chrysler along with its subsidiary companies was owned by DaimlerChrysler, a German company between the years 1998 and 2007. It was thus renamed “DaimlerChrysler Motors Company LLC”. Its operations in the United States are normally termed as “Chrysler Group”.

On the 14th of May in 2007 DaimlerChrysler declared the purchase of 80.1% share of the Chrysler Group by Cerberus Capital Management and this was settled on the 3rd of August in 2007. “The New Chrysler” or the Chrysler LLC introduced a new logo as well as a new website on the 6th of August, 2007. At present Chrysler is the leading independent car manufacturer of North America.
Walter P. Chrysler launched Chrysler on the 6th of June in 1925 with the re-organization of the Maxwell Motor Company within the Chrysler Corporation. The logo of Chrysler, when it was introduced, was a circular medallion that contained a ribbon. The name of Chrysler was printed on it. Other logos of Chrysler comprise the Forward Look, Pentastar and also the Winged logo. During the initial years of 1920s Walter Chrysler visited Maxwell-Chalmers as he was appointed to manage and patch up the distressed situation in the company. Chalmers was dissolved in the later half of 1923.
Chrysler automobile was introduced in January 1924 by Walter Chrysler. It was an automobile with 6 cylinders and was created to offer the customers a highly developed and well-designed car at an unbelievably reasonable price. After the run of the 1925 model year, Maxwell was dismissed. But the 4-cylinder Chryslers that were launched for the year 1926 were actually Maxwells. In fact, these Maxwells were redesigned and renamed. In this time period Walter Chrysler became the president of this company and it was finally included into the brand name of Chrysler.
The improved techniques of testing and engineering incorporated in the making of the automobiles of Chrysler aided the company to rise up to the position of the second leading car manufacturing company by 1936 in the Unite States sales. Chrysler also started to establish its presence in Europe during the 1960s by acquiring most of the shares of the Rootes Group of Britain, Barreiros in Spain and Simca in France.
