Eagle, headquartered in the state of Michigan, is the brand name given to Chrysler Corporation, who bought the American Motors Corporation (AMC). Talon sports car is the highlight of Eagle and targets the adventurous and enthusiastic drivers. With the slogan ‘Not Meant for the General Public’, Eagle was involved in manufacturing light trucks and passenger cars. The brand had only a life-span of 10 years; however, the sporty looks of the cars earned a large number of customers.

Some of its most reputed models of Eagle were the Eagle Vista, Eagle Medallion, Eagle Talon, Eagle Vision, Eagle 2000GTX, and Eagle Premier. The styles of these models were unique and kept evolving with the passage of each decade. Reasons like the competitive market, tremendous success of Jeep and inadequate marketing brought about the downfall of Eagle. However, from its foundation year till the last day of its existence, Eagle was liked tremendously by its buyers.
While peeping into its history we come to know that the name Eagle was acquired from the AMC Eagle. Primarily, the marketing of the products of Eagle was done by the AMC dealers. At the top right corner of every model one could see the Eagle head logo, promoting the brand. Eagle Medallion and Eagle Premier, the two oldest models of Eagle, was designed by AMC in cooperation with Renault. Due to financial crisis, more marketing was carried out for the Jeep vehicles than the automobile section. Popularity and profitability of Jeep vehicles were way ahead of the automobiles of Eagle.
This was the prime reason behind the unpopularity of Eagle’s automobile section. The products of Eagle, for almost 10 years, did not receive popularity and recognition. Even the dealers had stopped promoting the cars and diverted their full attention to the Jeep products. Buyers underwent through a tremendous confusing state and started thinking the cars of Eagle as ‘Jeep Eagles’. Sale of Eagle products slowly lessened and within a short span of time the entire company came to a halt.
Soon the Eagle branded cars phased out of the market completely. Had the marketing of Eagle cars been done properly, the world would have had another car manufacturing company today. Even in present generation’s cars one can see the glimpse of some of the styles of Eagle.
