History of Muscle Cars

The history of Muscle Cars dates back to the end of the World War II. During that time, the well known automakers of America turned their focus towards the performance of a car. The Chrysler 300 Letters series that originated in the year 1955 can be considered as the ancestor of Muscle Cars. Soon after this, the automakers started using high performance engines in the car models of standard size. The popularity of such cars increased during the 1960s.

As Muscle cars were very popular among the American youth, a huge number of automakers or car companies started the production of Muscle Cars. Over the period of time numerous well known brands of Muscle Cars came up. Among these brands many names became very famous in America as well as in the world. The famous brands of muscle cars include Pontiac GTO, Mopar, Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler, Ford etc.

The Halo models of the mid-sized cars were loved by the younger generation. These types of cars were considered as budget Muscle Cars. The brands of these types of cars include AMC Rebel, Ford Torino and Chevrolet Chevell. These cars are also well known as drag racers.

Modern Muscle Cars

Modern Muscle Cars include STV Cobra, Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird and LX Platform. All these cars have gained back their popularity and are ready to set the roads on fire.
