Honda Civic

In 1972 the Honda Civic entered the automobile market. The model that started a revolution in the car market was a double door coupe. The same year saw the launch of yet another model of Honda Civic, this has three doors and is a hatchback. All the versions are small but powerful.

Development of Honda Civic

The initial models ere equipped with a AM radio, heater and upholstered plastic trim.

Editions of Honda Civic

The first generation civics had the basic necessities like air conditioning, automatic transmission and radial wheels. The Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion was offered as an alternative to the standard engine of civic. The second generation models of the Honda Civic came with more engine capacity and better design. The wagon and the hatchback were the two types of Civics that were available. Civic 1300 and civic 1500 introduced many new features. Radial tires, cloth seats, cigar lighter, back window wipers and tachometers are naming a few the additions. In 1984 the third editions of the car was introduced. Three door hatchback, a shuttle wagon with four doors, a sedan with four doors and CRX coupe were the different versions. The next generation was launched in 1988. Si, sedan, hatchback and wagons were the varieties that were provided. The fifth generation had a body that was wedge like in shape. The sixth generation Civic were the first of the type R engines to be launched by Honda. Small in size the engines were powerful and fast. The seventh generation Civics were redesigned attractively. The hybrid versions were also introduced.

New Honda Civics

The 2008 Civic Sedan are the latest modern Civic range cars. The leather furnishings are complimented with steering wheels and front and middle armrest. A brand new instrument panel with double racks and satellite links with voice match technology is available. SOHC i VTEC four cylinder engine with MacPherson Strut Front Suspension are the the mechanical highlights. The Civic Hybrid 2008 is an environment friendly vehicle. AM,FM CD Audio system, six speakers and digital fuel consumption meter are the few highlights of this car. Continuously Variable Transmission with a 110 hp i-VTEC four cylinder engine are the added features of this car. The subtle colors add a new dimension to the car.
