Vintage Cars refer to cars that belong to the previous times and genre. Known popularly as Classic cars or traditional cars, Vintage cars have a charm of their own. The manufacture of the vintage cars continued till the 1930s and some time beyond. This particular period when the production of vintage cars took place is referred to as “Vintage Period”.
However, there are debates regarding the actual time which could be classified as the when the production of vintage cars began. The end of the First World War also saw a substantial level of manufacturing of the vintage cars. There is also a debate regarding the time to be treated as the end of the “Vintage car” era. In accordance with the British definition of Vintage cars, the year of 1930 is taken as the cut-off period at which the manufacturing of vintage cars ended. On the other hand, as per the American estimates, the year 1925 is taken as the time for the end of the “Vintage car” period.

Many people find the Vintage period overlapping with the Classic period of car making. Apart from this, there are also a considerable number of people who take the beginning of the Second World War as the concluding date of Vintage car manufacturing.

The particular time during which the vintage cars were produced is taken as the period of transition in the automotive sphere. There were a good number of car companies that introduced different models of vintage cars in the market. The different kinds of vintage cars that were manufactured include Alvis cars, Austin Healey, Gordon Keeble, Classic Cars, Sunbeam, Triumph Cars, Standard Vanguard, Riley, Brass Cars and others.

Gordon Keeble is also considered to be one among the many vintage cars that was very popular in its time. Then it was produced in Eastleigh which later on got shifted to Southampton. It is the period between 1963 and 1967 that was marked by the production of the Gordon Keeble cars.

Alvis is also one of the most famous vintage cars. It is the Alvis Car and Engineering Company that manufactured Alvis cars. The different models of Alvis cars included Alvis 11/40, Alvis 12/75 FWD, Alvis Speed 20, Alvis Firebird, Alvis TF 21, Alvis TB 14, Alvis 16.95 Silver Eagle and many others.
